What is in a name?

My daughter loves to go out for coffee. She loves to try the various flavors, savoring the aroma and taste of her morning beverage. While looking at a menu, the choices can sometimes seem endless. One thing we know, however, is that the name of that drink will be delivered as we expect it to be... a latte, a cappuccino, or even an espresso.

Why "SOS" Fitness? Names are more than just labels. They carry stories, histories, and meanings that shape how we see ourselves and how others perceive us. They tell us what to expect when we order a drink. They prepare us for what is to come. The question "what's in a name" invites us to explore the meaning behind them.

From the moment we are named, our names become a core part of who we are. They often reflect family traditions, cultural heritage, or parental hopes. "SOS" Fitness was chosen to represent our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...only the "Strength Of the Savior" can help us in our daily lives and our health journey...thus "SOS (Strength Of the Savior) Fitness". Acts 17:28 states, "For In HIM we live and move and have our being," emphasizing humanity's total dependence on God for existence and daily life. It is only because God allows it that we wake up every morning with the abilities HE has given us to carry out HIS purposes in our lives.

Some said, "SOS is not good; it makes me think of 'Save our Ship'." It's a cry for help." My response was "EXACTLY"...Jesus is our HELP...our only hope...the ultimate RESCUE for me and the sin problem of the world. Through His death and resurrection, we can have life in HIS name. See "The Three Circles" post for more...
